Soft Washing vs Pressure Washing
What is Pressure Washing?
Pressure washing, or power washing, cleans exterior surfaces with a high-pressure water spray.
Pressure washing is used to remove many types of stains and buildup, such as paint, mould, mud, dust, dirt, and grime.
Unlike soft washing, it relies more on high water pressures than adjunct chemical treatments.
Surfaces we commonly pressure wash include driveways, garage floors and patios made of stone or concrete. Signs your house needs to be pressure washed include discoloured surfaces and excessive cobwebs or dust in corners.
What is Soft Washing?
Soft washing cleans surfaces using a combination of water spray and chemicals.
We typically use a combination of EBC (EnviroBioCleaner, which breaks down the molecular bonds that hold oil together), surfactants (which reduces the surface tension of liquids to help penetrate grime) and neutralisers (to minimise runoff from the chemicals, which can harm plants and animals).
Specific chemical solutions such as SWAM (a biodegradable selective surfactant) and sodium hypochlorite (a powerful disinfectant) can help treat buildup caused by certain types of organic matter, such as mould, moss and bacteria.
